Grandpa DeVaughn, Uncle Bryant and Gage enjoying the spring weather!My family gathered in Oakley for my Grandpa's funeral and General Conference Weekend. We ended up outside a lot because the weather warmed. All the parents were very happy to send their children out doors since it get quite crowded in my parents house.
It is fun to see cousin's having a great time! Alec and Jacob wrestling, Gage and Romney jumping on the trampoline and fun dog pile on the trampoline. The trampoline is definitely the highlight at Grandma and Grandpa's house.
Alec and Jacob are good sports to let all the kids pile on them. I can hear the moans and groans!
My mom and I were making cinnamon rolls for everyone for when the men came back from the Priesthood meeting. As you can see we had some very curious onlookers...so cute!
Elisha is feeding Quinton through the chair. We weren't quite sure why this was going on, but they both seemed to enjoy it.

The oldest grandsons had the honor of carrying the casket.
My grandpa served in World War II. It was awesome to have Military Rites done by the Mini-Cassia Veterans.
This is my Grandma Jenks holding the flag that was presented to her by the military in honor of my grandpa's military service.
It was so wonderful to learn more about my Grandpa at the funeral. I loved listening to my aunts and uncles tell stories about him. There was laughter, tears and more laughter. I love my grandpa and I am so grateful for his influence in my life. He was a very special man! We will miss you! It is such a blessing to know that my Grandpa is in heaven greeting loved ones that have gone on before him. As was said many times during the funeral, there is a great reunion going on on the other side of the veil.

funerals are such bitter sweet things. Its sad to loose someone, but its nice to get to hear all about them and be able to celebrate their life. Also it seems to be the time when a family all gets together. I'm glad you had such nice weather. Sorry for your loss.
Those are great pictures. Its always sad to get together for a funeral, but fun to be with family.

I love the pictures Amy. The cousins did have so much fun together. It is sad to gather for a funeral but also so nice to see everyone again. Just how I imagine Grandpa enjoyed seeing so many loves one on the other side. The military rites were awesome. It made me so grateful to live in such a wonderful country and have amazing men and women serving and protecting our freedoms.
LDS funerals for people who have lived long full lives are such wonderful opportunities to celebrate a live well lived and meet with family and friends. It was good to see the pictures of your family. We are glad that you live close enough to share in this family time.
