Fall Activities

I have been getting a bunch of apples from a friend that has an apple tree. Gage loves dried apples, so that is what I have been doing with the apples she has given me. You can see how helpful Gage is during the process. We have really been enjoying the food dryer that Jared's sister Melanie gave us.
For our Co-op preschool field trip day we went to Great Harvest! They gave us a tour. We learned about all the steps they take to make the bread.
He started with the a stalk of wheat, gave everyone some wheat to chew on (they loved that!), and then showed them where they grind the wheat into flour.
They got to see the mixer that mixes the dough, watch them knead the dough (all the kids got a small piece of dough) and see the huge oven that bakes all the bread and then where it cools. Then we all got a baked piece of honey whole wheat bread! Delicious. The kids loved it, the moms loved it! What a great field trip.
Here is a video of how Gage has gotten around not being able to do his ritual after prayer hug. Usually he runs as fast as he can towards Jared, slams into Dad's chest with his chest and then Daddy hugs him. Sadly Jared injured a rib while playing soccer. He won't be able to play soccer for awhile and he has been quite sore.

That looks like a really fun tour. We should look into doing more things like that for Ruth & Rachel.

That really does look like a fun thing to do in preschool. I still remember when we got a tour of the sewage treatment plant! I thought it was so cool.

And what a way cute video! I love how he says "bye" at the end.

Gage, it is great you are learning this life lesson, sometimes you need to make accommodations for the weak (see, old).

Lots of fun things going on at your house. I loved the video. I have a new food dryer, thanks to Emily, that I'm learning to use.
