Thanksgiving Fun

Our travels to my sister Sarah's home was filled with long hours in the car, drama and lots and lots of snow. But we finally made it a day later then planned and had a great time. We enjoyed a combined family Thanksgiving because Jared's sister Bethanie and her family joined us too. We were happy to have them and so excited that they have moved closer to us. The kids all had a blast playing. The adults enjoyed eating and eating and eating.

Jared, Gage and I were able to go with Sarah and family to cut down their tree. We found a place to stop and the boys went crazy in the snow, but they couldn't go far. The snow was so deep I had to come and pull them out when they got stuck. We had to take a picture of Sidra. She looks so darn cute all decked out like a pink snowgirl.

And there is Josh with their find. Jared and Josh had snowshoes on so they were able to get around quite a bit easier.
Here is Sidra being her spunky, cute self! I sure get a kick out of her!!

Bethanie was chosen to read books to the kids, but then I made her go to the kitchen and make her yummy soft pretzels. The kids had fun shaping their own pretzels.

When we got back to Missoula we were able to go cut down our own tree. We had lots of snow too. Gage had a blast being pulled behind our car as we looked for a tree. He didn't want to get off, but when we finally made him he realized his mother was right and he was frozen!

It was a pretty steep hill where we finally found our tree. Jared had a difficult time cutting it down at this angle. We were happy not to get stuck in the snow this time in our car. It made our tree hunting a much happier experience.

You were courageous to brave the storm. The things we do for family!
Sounds like you had a good time. Wish we could have peeked in for a few minutes.

Very pretty tree!! Wnt to come help us cut ours?

Love all the cute pictures, except there isn't one of you! Sorry you had such a harrowing journey, hopefully going back was easier. Course this makes for good memories and stories later, which is why going to get a tree will always be a fun adventure in your family!

Wow, that's a crazy angle! It looks like a great tree though. Don't forget pictures of the finished product!

I can't believe Sidra is so big.

looks like fun! I have been thinking about you guys the past couple of days. I saw a man at costco a couple of days ago that looked exactly like Jared from the side. He was at the counter with a line of people behind him waiting to make returns. I was so sure it was him I called out to him and when he didn't respond, I called out again. I went right up to him and finally realized it wasn't him. Wow, did I feel stupid!
