Birdseye Utah Helm Family Reunion, Part 1

Jared's sister Emily was the head cheese in charge of this years Family Reunion and all her hard work paid off. We stayed on a small ranch out in the middle of nowhere. We had a great time and really enjoyed our time with family. Here are some the highlights:

We hiked to some hot springs.

It was fun to visit with each other along the way.

We were hungry by the time we made it to the hot springs, but the kids couldn't wait long before they had to get in. The hot springs had a few great little pools. Some hotter than others.
And it had a little waterfall that had cooler water to help cool off the hot water. Jared is the one standing on top.
Grandma Jan, Gage and Emily soaking it all up!
Gage thought it was pretty awesome under the water fall, but he said it was very cold. So after going under the falls he would go jump in the warm water.
So back at the Ranch.....
You can't get the Helm's together without music being present. It's great! Jared's dad, Terry, starts playing and people start to gather around. Love it!
Guitars, a Ukelele and a Barrie join the throng!
Emily and Melanie always had the kids working on projects. Here Grandma Jan is helping Gage make a paper kite.
Melanie did a great activity. She got baby pictures of everyone in the family and then we had to guess who they all were. She played a trick on us and had two extra pictures put in there. Naughty girl!
This sand box was definitely one of the favorite places for the kids to play!
Jared and I did a scavenger hunt sort of thing. Jared put together a compass course that lead the 3 different teams around the ranch to find pieces to the puzzle that had a secret message on back. The message led them to a yummy stash of loot. We were happy that everyone really seemed to enjoy it! It was fun(ny) watching them run around the ranch. Hehe!

Aaron brought a potato gun that was having some mechanical problems at first, but once it was working it shot great!
The slip n slide was great! Gage loved it and couldn't seem to get enough of it. Children and adults a like enjoyed bruising up their bodies for a little thrill. Pretty soon it became a contest of who could go the farthest.
