Las Vegas Melanie Style

Melanie, Jared's sister, flew us out to her neck of the woods. She lives in Las Vegas. Also, Emily, another sister of Jared's, flew in from Provo, Utah. We were able to spend a long fun filled weekend together. And then drive back in the car we bought from Melanie.

Gage was so excited to ride in the airplane. He did great! As we lifted off the ground Gage's eyes were wide with amazement. He was sitting in Jared's lap by the window so he could see everything. He kept looking over at me with a smile that seem to say.."THIS IS SO AWESOME!"

One of our first stops was Red Rock State Park. It was a really great area. Gage loved climbing around on the big rock and collecting little rocks.
Gage has interesting taste...dipping a pickle in ketchup??? This is one of the many meals out on the town we enjoyed while in Las Vegas.
At the aquarium Aunt Melanie was trying to help Gage touch the sting rays. His arm need to be a bit longer.
"Look at the cool shark Aunt Melanie bought me!" He just loved it. He had to have it with him in bed that night.
It was fun for Gage to have two fun Aunts to play with. Aunt Emily liked to tease Gage. He didn't quite know what to think of her sometimes. It was funny! It reminded me a lot of how Jared teases Gage. They must be siblings.

If there was water, Gage was right there, getting his hand wet. I think Aunt Emily was encouraging it!! Oh, yes now I remember...Emily was picking up coins out of the fountain and giving them to Gage to throw back in.

The casinos/hotels had some pretty awesome sights to behold. That would be the only reason to be in the casinos since we don't gamble.

Water show at the Bellagio that Gage could not take his eyes off and always wanted to wait for the next one.

This is Jared's skill using the camera at night. Looks awesome!

Gage was in heaven with all the root beer and lemonade we were drinking. He couldn't get enough.

We went to a place called Spring Preserve. It has lots of fun things to learn about, play with and look at. Gage really had fun. He was so cute with his oversized hat (it was aunt melanie's) and his monkey leash. After loosing Gage at Walmart a couple weeks ago I decided he needed a monkey on his back!!!

Gage played for a long time with this cute little girl. You put oranges on the conveyor belt and then turn the wheel to take them up to the top and drop down a hole. He did it over and over and over. Such fun!

We had a fun time! Thanks Aunt Melanie! You're the best! We really felt spoiled! It was an added bonus to have Aunt Emily come too and travel back with us as far as Provo. She was so helpful with Gage in the back seat and nice company all around.

On our way back home we were able to stop at my sister Sarah's in Rexburg for about an hour. It was her birthday so we had some cake and ice cream and visited. Luckily Angela, Jared's sister, who is also in Rexburg going to school was able to get out of class early and come over and visit with us. It was too bad it had to be so short, but it was worth the stop. Gage was excited to see Aunt Angela!

That looks like lots of fun! We went to Vegas when Jakob was 16 months old or so. It was a lot of fun. I love blogs so we can catch up on what's going on in our family's lives!!
