We were in charge of Jared's family reunion this year. We chose to go to South Dakota. We started our tour at Mount Rushmore. Gage was quite fascinated and thought he should have been able to get closer.
Next we went to Crazy Horse Museum and Monument. As you can see Gage slept through most of it. He was excited to see everything when he finally woke up. He wasn't ready to leave, unlike most of the family. Anneliese and Melina were so cute posing for me in the tepee. I am posing with the Crazy Horse Monument behind me.
We of course had to fit some fishing in. It was definitely a family affair. Some fished on the dock, some next to the pond and some on the small falls. It sure was a pretty little spot just off the road.
Even Grandma enjoyed some fishing.
When you're not fishing you might as well be eating right? Gage, Melina and Joel seemed to think so. Gage loved the little water falls. We walked out on the boulders and put our hands in the water. It was fun having the water rushing so loudly all around us. I could tell Gage was surprised I was leading him out onto the boulders. Mommy can be exciting sometimes! He loved it!
It is a tradition in Jared's family to sing. I think it is great the way it brings them all together. Jared's mom made a song book of all there favorite songs and then some. It is awesome. Now maybe I can sing along more, except that I really enjoy listening and being entertained by how funny they think they or oops I mean, how funny they are! hehe
We were able to go through one of the many caves in the area. I am a bit claustrophobic, but I did great. We all seemed to have had a good time. Gage, once again loved it! He thought it was so cool to walk through a tunnel.
Here is the Helm Clan! We all agreed that the time was too short, but if we thought it was too short then we must have gotten along right? Thanks for a great time everyone.

South Dakota was beautiful and the cabins were very nice. Basically I'm trying to say you guys did awesome!
I agree with Emily. It was a great reunion. And of course it definitely not long enough! I will take this into consideration since I'm in charge of the next one... AH!!! I'm so stressed! U guys did so great and it seemed like there wasn't much stress. How does that happen?
I liked all the pictures too. I keep stealing the pictures I like from other members of the family. Still haven't gotten my family picture though. I guess I'm not as important as I thought :-)
oh and one more thing the others may think they are funny but I know I am....
What a fun time we all had. Thanks so much for the work and worry that went into getting us all together for awhile. You arranged everything so nice! I also loved the pictures. You got some really good ones. Thanks for everything.
we had a good time didn't we. Thank you for all of your hard work and stress. It turned out great! We were so glad to see you and the kiddo's were SO excited to see Gage again.
