The theme for the Helm Family Reunion this year was....OLYMPICS! Each family was asked to make a flag. I had a fun idea to use different scraps of material and make a Montana scene. That's about as much as I did. Jared took my idea and perfected it and did most of the work, including the sewing. Don't I have a fantastic husband?!? We were so please with how it turned out. We love it!
The Helm Patriarch started off the Helm Family Olympics carrying the torch and reading the Olympic Oath for the athletes.
Then we had the parade of the families and their flags. Can you figure out what Bethany's flag says? It must be in a foreign language right??? Nope! Hint: read it backwards.
So here we are in our awesome Helm Family Reunion T-Shirts that Emily had done for us. We are waiting for our fearless leader, Melanie, to tell us where to begin our fun at Zion National Park.
For all the sight/hikes we went to we had to take the shuttle buses. It was fun to fill up half the bus with the Helm Family. The kids, of course, loved riding on the bus.
Here is Gage in his hiking getup, ready to go! He loved playing and being silly with his cousins as they ran up the trail.
We are hiking to the Emerald Pools. It was so hot and the water spraying, dripping and falling from the rocks along the way was very welcome.
There were three pools at different levels and by the time we got to the last one on top we were all very hot and wiped out. Our sack lunches didn't seem so appetizing anymore. Phew! But the hike was worth it.You can see why Gage enjoyed getting to the top.

Love the video! He just keeps running, no hot dusty trail can keep him down.
Next time can Gage share a little of his energy with the 2 more mature members of the family. He seemed to have plenty to spare! And thanks posting in good time.
