Gage and I got a Children's Music CD from the library. On the cover it had sock monkey's and there was a song about sock monkey's. Gage asked, "Mom, what is sock monkey?" I explained it to him and ever since he has wanted one. So I thought, even with my sad sewing abilities, I should be able to make him one. When I told Gage this he couldn't wait for me to get going. We looked in several stores but no one had the classic sock monkey kind of socks. I really wanted to make it like the original. Jared found the socks I was looking for online and bought them.

It took a while and a swollen finger, but I finally got it made. Online tutorials were great in helping me accomplish this project. His name is Lankly. Gage named him. Now Lankly goes to bed with Gage every night to keep him company. As you can see, he even watches TV with Gage. Who needs a sibling when you have a sock monkey, right?

What a great mom you are! He turned out really cute.
Oh my gosh, I love it! I didn't know the real ones made from real socks could really look like that! You rock!
That really is great. I'm impressed! And I love the pictures of them together. Priceless.
very cute! Melanie's Horrace is scary but Lankly turned out awesome. shhh don't tell her :)
I wouldn't call that sad sewing abilities! Way cute...good job...your an awesome mom!
Just so Jared doesn't feel left out, good job finding the sock.
I just want to mention that Horace is only scary to those with overactive imaginations.
Lankly is cuter but thats because he's a REAL sock monkey. Horace is a fake.
I forgot to ask.. why the swollen finger?
Adorable picture. I'm really proud of you Amy, knowing that sewing isn't your favorite thing. And, you too Jared, for making a fun toy possible.
Lankly turned out so cute. Sock monkeys are quieter and less messy than a sibling too! ;)
I love it.
