Christmas in Idaho

We were in Oakley at my parent's home for Christmas. Our first festive thing we did with the kids was decorate gingerbread cookies. Of course it went over well. Some got a little overzealous with the sprinkles, but otherwise they didn't get too crazy.

Here we are Christmas morning, bright and early because that's how my family does it! We love opening presents when it is still dark outside. If you will notice, Jared has a hat on. We slept out in the camper that didn't stay very warm even with the little heater we plugged in. But we bundled up and stayed pretty cozy until the next week when it got down into the single digits. After that we slept in the Harry potter room!

Here is Gage in his new Dr. Seuss pajamas and Buzz Lightyear slippers. You can see a few of the things he received for Christmas. I made him a Sock Monster to go along with the Sock Monkey I made him a couple months back. It was his special request. He also got K'NEX this year. It is bit above his level, but he loves it when his Dad sits down with him and they build some pretty cool vehicles.

Here is just some random pictures. I had to get a picture of all the boys around Jared. He usually had car or motorcycle crashes playing on Youtube and they all thought that was so fascinating! Are they boys or what??
My mom is holding the newest member of the Holladay family, Grace. So precious!
And then a picture of two cute mischevious little boys, Quinton and Elisha.

We were able to go sledding at Pomerelle. The snow was great and the sledding was fun until my baby got hurt. He was coming down the hill and I was suppose to stop him before he got to the fence. He was going way faster than I realized and wasn't able to stop him before his face ran into the wood fence. I am still traumatized by it and feel so bad for not being able to stop him. He chipped a cap on one of his teeth that was just put on the week before by his dentist. At least it wasn't worse. At least that is what I keep telling myself. I held Gage for awhile until he was ready to go down again. He wouldn't go by himself, but he wanted to go down with Jared. We found a better place that didn't have a fence at the bottom of the hill. The other picture is of my mom after she slid off her sled. I guess she decided to take a little breather. Too funny!!!She was awesome and had a good time sledding down the hill. GO MOM!

We enjoyed spending time at Jared's brothers home during the Christmas holiday. It would have been more fun if Jared hadn't puked all night long the first night we were there though. We stayed an extra day since Jared started feeling better and wanted to spend some time with his brother Nathan. Gage had a blast playing on the Wii with his cousins. He wasn't happy to leave.

Thank you family for all the fun times. It's always great sharing food, memories and germs!

So fun! I love the picture of Quinton and Elisha, but maybe I'm a little biased. Could you e-mail it to me? I'm so glad Gage recovered from his sledding accident and I hope it doesn't stop him from going again!

Sounds like a fun and eventful time. I really like your sock monster! The holidays is always the time for germ sharing. They go along with the after Holidays blues missing ur family :-)

Read your blog right after you put it on, but didn't have time to comment.
I loved the pictures and knowing what you did. It makes me hurt to see Gage with his "owie" I'm sure it was much more traumatizing to his mom than him.
We missed you all, but are happy you had a good time and got to see so much family.
