Gage was so excited to go to Kindergarten. The first day was for only two hours and parents came with their child and were introduced to the classroom routine and all that fun stuff. My Mr. Independent child told me I could just drop him off and he could go. In fact he insisted. But I told him parents were invited and I was going in with him. I think he was sad that it was only two hours and wasn't ready to go home yet.
On the second day he was extra excited because he was going to ride that big yellow bus that he has been dreaming about for two years! He hopped right on with no reservations and waved a cheerful goodbye and that was it. Did I mention he was Mr. Independent? He is only on the bus for about 10 minutes, but he seems to love every minute of it. My walk back home was filled with a bit of anxiety and a little bout of loneliness. But it didn't last long. I sure got a lot of cleaning done his first week in school!
Here is Gage and I in front of his new school, Cold Springs Elementary. There are 4 Kindergarten classes and Gage did not end up in any of the same classes as his friends. Kind of sad, but that could end up being for the best. He of course loves his teacher Mrs. Salisbury and so do I. This is going to be a great year for him!
Happy birthday, Dio!!

That is so great he's excited for school. Is it half day kindergarten? Looking good!
I can't believe that Gag is going to school. I'm glad that he is loving it!
Oh the fun of starting school. All those new ideas and things to do and people to charm. You even get new crayons!
Wow, Gage is so big! Congratulations!
Neita, Nathan and the cousins.
P.S. Don't eat the glue!
Ohhhhhh, Gage is so mature--a kindergartner! Can you believe it? I can picture "Mr. Independent" getting on the bus and telling you he can go by himself...Miss him and you all.
James started today and Daphne starts on Monday. Tomorrow she has an evaluation to see which class to place her. There are 61 kindergartners and two teachers. Yikes. We'll see how it goes.
Take care, friend.
