Camping in Glacier

The pictures are showing the end to the beginning, but I am not willing to take the time to rearrange them all so...This is our last evening at Glacier in our West Glacier KOA campground in Glacier National Park. We loved having flush toilets, showers, small swim pool, ice cream shop and park at our KOA. We stayed 4 nights.

This was at the end of our hike to John's lake. It ended up not being the most enjoyable hike because it is an equestrian trail and having to constantly watch your step was annoying and smelly. Johns lake wasn't that great either, but then it lead us here...
...and under the main road and to the beautiful river.
Jared would take any opportunity to fish if I let him. So while Gage and I went to explore he tried some fishing. There were no fish to be found.

We went on a little drive up Fish Creek and found a great place to picnic and let Gage play in the water.
He thought it was too cold to put his whole body in so he just tried his face.
These two pictures are at various places in Glacier we visited when we weren't hiking. Gage really liked uncovering the dinosaur bones.

We let Gage pick two souvenirs from Glacier. He picked a bow and arrow with target board, and his most prized possession, a harmonica. I am sure our camping neighbors loved it when we came back at the end of the day and they were serenaded by Gage.

Here's harmonica boy! He has some pretty interesting moves while playing the harmonica and jammin' out!

They also had a game room at the KOA that had video games. Gage thought it was the best place ever. His mother, on the other hand, didn't. We only went one time.
Gage wanted me to take this picture of him all snug and cozy in his sleeping bag.
Yup, you guessed it. Jared and Gage pushing down a dead tree. It's tradition.
The next few pictures are when we were traveling on the "Going to the Sun" road. The view is incredible and inspiring.

We are on our way to Hidden Lake. What a cute family!
Gage thought maybe crawling up the trail would be easier. HUH???
Gage and Jared loved this hike because it involved snow along the way. Gage said "We are walking in snow and it isn't even winter!!! He thought that was the coolest thing ever. Must be his Dad's son because I was not that impressed.
There was a small herd of big horn sheep that crossed our path on the way up. Can you see it?
Look! We found it. Hidden Lake has been found!

We rented an 8 hp boat and went out on Lake McDonald. Since we couldn't really go fast and fly over the lake in this rinky dinky boat we had to make our own fun. It was quite a windy day so when we turned the boat around and drove as fast as you can into the waves you can fly! Gage and I sat at the front of the boat and had a blast riding the waves and getting sore bottoms and wet faces. We couldn't stop giggling. It really was fun!

Here is the beginning of our favorite hike, Virginia Falls. First you come to St Marys Falls as you see here.

Can you see the Moose hanging out in the stream? We saw her on our way back down. She didn't mind us and just kept munching away at something in the stream.
Gage and I really liked this cute furry little mouse(at least it looked like a mouse) he found when we reach Virginia Falls. He wasn't even bothered by us at all. He just went about his business as I took pictures. Just a cute little furry puffball.
Gage did a great job taking a picture of us.
Virginia Falls is gorgeous. It was so loud that you can't hardly talk to each other and of course the mist is spraying all over. It was pretty chilly, but beautiful.
We really enjoyed our time in Glacier. We loved exploring new trails and seeing so many beautiful sights. But we must say we did get a bit lonely not having any friends or family with us. It makes it more fun to share the good times with others. And no, we did not see any bears!

Everywhere looks so much cooler and inviting than here in Vegas :-) Gage looks like such a big guy shooting his arrows and playing some music. Fun times!

You got some beautiful pictures and I think the picture of Gage crawling on the hike is simply funny!
I'm so sad that we couldn't come along. We missed some fun times.

I'm jealous. Glacier is by far one of my favorite places.
