Summer Idaho Trip

We decided to make a stop on our way to Oakley at Craters of the Moon. I have fun memories from going there on a field trip in school. I was sure Gage would love it and he did. We didn't stay for long, but we were able to go on a little tour and learn some interesting and not so interesting facts and got to climb around in some caves.

Let the camping begin! Jared was very excited to help cut wood with Michael's little chain saw. He has been trying to persuade me to let him buy one but they terrify me. Probably a bit ironic since I let Jared get a motorcycle. Hmmm...

Jared and I were in charge of this Jenks Reunion and we went with a Western theme. It couldn't have gone better. Cowboy/cowgirl hats for all the kids, bandannas to color with fabric markers, sheriff badge kits, and decorate a paper bag cowboy/cowgirl vests.

Here is Gage concentrating on coloring his bandanna and my mom had to get in on the activities too! Love it.

Gage and his cousin Lincoln show off the finished products. What handsome cowboys.

Sidra and I showing off our cowgirl getups.

One of the favorite activities was panning for gold. The kids LOVED it! I spray painted gravel to look like gold and mixed it in with some water and sand and let the fun begin.

I didn't get pictures of the "Rodeo" activity because I was too busy being in charge, but we played horse shoes, shot plastic cups off a log with a water gun, roped a stick horse, lizard toss into a bucket and lastly the stick horse race barreling through and around the trees.

It is not a Jenks reunion without some softball. It's so fun seeing the dad's and mom's helping their kids hit the ball and run the bases.

Rebeka and Sidra became best friends during this reunion. They were attached at the hip. It was so funny to listen to them talk and watching them get into mischief.

This picture of my niece is going to be entitled....
"Embrace the soil"

(and no, she is not missing a front tooth!)

Your niece Kidra looks AWESOME in that last shot. Made me smile.

You guys did such a great job. Everyone has so much fun. When I asked my kids what their favorite part was, they both agreed that mining for the gold was the coolest. Thanks for the all hard work and preparation that you put into it. We had a great time.
