We had the fun opportunity to go stay at Lochsa Lodge in Powell, Idaho. It's not too far from the Idaho Montana border. There was lots of snow of course and so we got out did some snow shoeing.
We were walking along the river that was solid in spots, but you can see that it was not completely solid. I was a bit nervous even walking along the edge, but Jared said it was fine and that it wasn't very deep anyway. I still continued a bit cautiously and was letting Jared take the lead. It was very beautiful and I was enjoying the scenery when plop went one of Jared's feet into the water. It of course scared me until I saw he was fine and it wasn't deep. Then I just started to laugh at him. He is standing next to the hole he created. Hehehe!
Then we decided to go and see what the Jerry Johnson Hot Springs were like. We got to cross this cool bridge and headed about a mile and a half up and down a trail until we reached the springs.
I was worried about seeing naked people and my worrying was justified. But I am not getting into that story. It all ended well when the two guys left and we were able to walk down to the creek and see the hot springs coming out of the rocks and into a little natural pool. No we didn't get in, but it was very pretty and cozy.
We ended our trip with cross country skiing. I didn't last long and let Jared head out onto a longer trail. We were at the Lolo Pass Visitors Center. While Jared skied I went into the visitor's center and looked through the gift store and drank hot chocolate!
I wasn't ready to go back to real life, but it had to happen some time. I loved spending time with Jared without the distractions of life getting in the way! 15 years and still counting. I feel so blessed to be able to enjoy this ride together.

Happy Valentines day plus the day you celebrate your anniversary! I'm so happy that you are my sister in law! Also glad you guys had some quality time together. It looks like fun, but I'm not sure if I would rather drink hot chocolate or skiing....
Wow, that looks like alot of fun. I miss the snow! So glad you could get away and enjoy a lovely weekend.
PS. Jared mentioned he hadn't waxed his skies and so had a tough time pushing through that snow... its a good thing you let him go on without you :)

How happy that you've found a good way and time to celebrate your anniversary. We always say we are going to celebrate at a different time and somehow it gets put off forever.
