Gage and I decided to enter a Gingerbread House contest to start out our holiday season. The entry fee went to support the Ronald McDonald House here in Missoula. We entered Gage in the 8 and under with assistance category. We had fun working on this together. I think Gage's favorite part was getting to eat the candy as we went. We got 2nd place and Gage got a $25 gift card!
It was raining in Missoula the day we decided to cut down our Christmas tree. We decided we were going to drive until we found snow. We went up to Lolo pass and boy o' boy did we find snow! It was so beautiful.
Jared is hard at work chopping (with an axe) down the best tree that we have brought home yet.
Gage was excited to bring home his own tree.
After the tree was strapped to the car we enjoyed sledding on a small hill that was behind the Lolo Pass Visitors Center.
Ouch and Yee Haw!
Gage was so excited to get a little tree in his room. He had fun decorating it all by himself.
The popcorn string came later. For Family Home Evening we watched A Muppet's Christmas Carol and started our popcorn string. I love that Gage really got into it with me this year. It was still pretty hard for him, but it was nice not to be the only one excited about making a popcorn string for the tree. I realized later that I didn't get a picture of our tree with the popcorn string. Oh well.
Our tree is decorated so let the Christmas season begin!!!
Gage decided to have me make play dough so he could shape it into different things, let it dry and then paint them. He then wrapped them and gave them to friends for Christmas presents.
Look at him go!
We decided to make another Gingerbread House as a family for our home for FHE. Fun!
Gage and I made sugar cookies and decorated them. They were all just for us. Jared often comments how I make goodies and then give them away, poor guy! So we made these just for us. Friends and neighbors got some cool gingerbread men that we made!
Enjoying his hard work!
I am adding this picture just because he is such a cutie!

What fun times you guys have. I'm sure that your whole christmas was fun with such good preparations. Will these be traditions?
