Crystal Lake

We drove for quite awhile to get to this trail. The trail was almost 2 miles and mostly downhill. That was nice until we headed back to the car.
We all caught some fish. Well, I almost caught some fish...they kept jumping off my hook!
When we got closer to this mountain lake, it got marshy and we walked on lots of "Lincoln Logs". Gage really enjoyed this part.
It was a challenging hike for Gage, but he made it and since we caught some fish it was all worth it.
Holland Lake Falls
We enjoyed hiking to Holland Lake Falls. It was quick to get to and pretty.
Apparently it was too easy of a hike so we had to make it harder by trying to get closer to the falls. We were definitely "off roading/trailing" it. I was getting a bit nervous as I started thinking about trying to go back the way we came.
We did get closer and felt the mist from the falls. Actually, we felt like we were getting a shower!
It was a beautiful view!
The down side to "off roading/trailing" was the tick flicking we had to do once we got back on the trail. Man, they were all over our clothes! Yikes!!!

I hate ticks! But that does look beautiful. What fun adventures you have :)
Those were some great pictures.
I'm jealous of the beautiful places you have so close to you! Thanks for keeping up with your blog, it motivates me to keep posting on ours!
Beautiful, but I'll leave the ticks to you.
