Our dream of owning a home finally came to be! It happened faster than we were expecting. We thought in a year or so, but I really felt the spririt guiding us and felt strongly the second time we visited this home that it was the one.
We are loving the fenced in back yard with all the trees and shubbery.
The basement has a lot of space, but needs a lot of work as well. Gage and Elisha had fun pulling down the ugly brown paneling. They were anxious to do a bit of demo work.We had lots of help painting and scraping ceilings. My sister Sarah and her boys Lincoln and Camden are hard at work. My sister in laws Angela and Jenny did a lot of painting. Jenny was definitely an old pro at this. She was showing Angela the ropes.
Jared's nephew Jacob was a great help to him as he started the demo work to put a shower in the bathroom. Jared's dad, Terry did a lot on this bathroom as well while Jared was at work.
This wall was a deep red color that clashed with the colors of the fireplace. Jenny painted it this beautiful gray for me. I love it! Jenny and her kids were a great help. My sister in laws Melanie and Emily came and helped too. My mother in law Jan and Angela and my neice Sarah helped a lot with my kitchen.
There is still lots a things we want to do with this home, but house projects are eternal and its been fun being able to work together on OUR home and yard like we've always dreamed of doing. We feel so blessed.
We live in a great neighborhoood and ward. Everyone has been very welcoming and helpful.
We have started a new chapter in our lives and we are so excited and happy for this new adventure. We can't thank Melanie and Emily enough for allowing us to live in their home for two years. We loved it! We had so much fun and felt loved and welcome. Being unemployed was not enjoyable at all, but they made it more than enjoyable. It was fun to work and play together. Those were the best two years!
