We love being in Oakley for Pioneer Days. Our celebration often includes Taiwanese students that Michael brought over from Taiwan. Several family's in Oakley, including my parents, host the students. My parents host the final activity before the students head back to Taiwan with a hot dog roast. The students are so kind and helpful. They just loved to play with all the kids.
They were fascinated with Michael's hand cracked ice cream maker. They all just sad around at watched. For some of them it was the first time roasting a hot dog.
Let the races begin! The goose creek runoff always has family running in it! We love watching them coming in and cheering for them.
Then we end the fun with a parade and fireworks. Oliver was pretty excited about his candy!
