Home Sweet Washington Home

This is Jared. I am posting a few pictures for the benefit of my family members who might remember this place. Things have certainly changed a bit with many fences and of course, bigger trees. The hill is filled with houses. I didn't go and talk to the people, maybe next time.

Here you can see our wonderful rock. I certainly don't remember those trees though.

Anyway, memories.....

Oh, the memories....
I had to explain to the kids how we flew the rock. It is not obvious from the photo in the snow where the operational buttons are found.
Holy cow, the trees are huge and the house behind sure is close. I wonder if in the excavation they found any Tonka parts or pieces of dirt slinging weapons made of PVC.
Did you see any sign of a garden (home to daddy long legs and barn owls)?
Is there still a short sloping spot in the back yard?
Did you happen to see a nearly naked blond girl building dams in front of the driveway?
Did you see a blue VW Van (RDJ 243) parked along the sidewalk unloading lava rocks harvested from public land?
I could not see from the photos if the light pole dad wrapped himself around during a game of football was still in place.
Was the deck the same as the one that was built by the Hulk?
Was there any sign of Mt. Saint Helen's effigies built under that same deck?
Thank you Jared for the effort. I enjoyed the memories! The house actually looks pretty good. (I didn't see any of my foot prints on the roof)

That is really cool! (and I loved Nathan's comments!) I remember the house and wall being MUCH bigger and I'm pretty sure there wasn't a fence there. You could run ALL the way around so you could follow the sprinklers as they turned on.

And I was not nearly naked... You aren't nearly naked when you are swimming. Duh.

I just want to tell you this says it was posted on Thursday, that's why I didn't see it 'till now. You have to change the date on ur post to show the actual time/date you posted (otherwise it shows the time/date you STARTED the post)

Great memories, fun times. Did We realize how lucky we were to have you all under our roof? Time just passes way too fast. I'm glad for every moment we spent playing!

that isn't anythink like i remember it. I'm glad we got to live there when it was "wide open spaces" behind us. I didn't see the fruit trees, and i definately don't remember those round bushes in the front. wow things change.

In case some of you look at these comments, here a couple answers,
The rock must have sunk halfway into the ground, it used to be taller.
No indication of found artifacts after we left.
The garden is no more.
The slop is there, although erosion has made is smaller.
Swimming in the gutter is not the same as nearly naked dam builder.
No more VW van but at least the rocks are still there.
The deck was still there.
The light pole is there and I think a rib of Dad's is still attached.
The effigies are gone as there is now a basement access to outside under the deck.
And yes, Mandy, this is Hills West Way.

I don't remember that much about the house except for building forts in the back and running between sage brush. I do remember the big green electric box where I used to wait for my "boy friend".

it's still the same color! and dad's rock wall is still there! i helped ...
the fences make it hard to play a good game of kickball and no easy access to a sage brush fort, scorpions - or how about sand dams?
i guess no 4 wheeler will be coming over the wall after a sunday afternoon drive .... no more jerusalem artichokes under the porch ... wonder if all the grass is the same - that bit on the front left was always a little different ..
suppose alfalfa stills sprouts in the neighbors yard?
and i wonder if julie hannah still visits the culdesac ...

thanks jared!!!
