I don't think Gage could have been anymore excited about playing soccer this past Saturday. He had his first soccer practice earlier this week and had fun, but was so disappointed that they didn't play a game. It was so funny to watch Gage strut onto the field for practice. He felt pretty special with his cleats, shin guards, and soccer socks.

Here he is with his Jersey before the game started.

You never know with kids how they will react when it finally comes to playing. But Gage did not hesitate. He didn't shy away from the ball at all as you can see. He wasn't always paying attention, but when he was, he was getting in there. We didn't realize Gage was keeping track of how many goals he was making until he was running down the field after he scored and in a very "I'm so cool" sort of way, held up four fingers for his Dad to see. We had a good laugh over that.

He had a blast! He had fun being able to play with his friend Maddie and play against his buddies Seth and Conner.

Congratulations everyone! What can be more enjoyable and fun than watching your 4 year old play sports.
Here is a pile up with his buddies!

How fun! We'd love to have been there to cheer him on, but I imagine his parents did a pretty good job, and at that age they aren't very self critical. Don't you just love it. Wish they would stay that way!
very cool! Glad you got some great photos.
it's not so fun when you're watching your 15 yr old daughter and its 90 degrees ....
...i remember the good old days ... watching the little kids play soccer is better than a tv sitcom!
