On our second day of travel we stopped along the way at one of the arches, Wilson Arch. It was fun to get out and climb. The weather was beautiful!
A fun tradition that Jared's family does are luminarios. It lights the way for the Christ Child. First we fold the brown paper bags, then we fill them with sand and place them around outside their home and finally at dusk, light a candle and put it in the bag. Even Gage's Great Grandma Ritchie got involved!
The traditional picture on the stairs before we are let into Santa's room! And there is Grandma and Grandad.
We had a great time opening presents and enjoying each others company.
We were able to do some fun things the week following Christmas. One of them was exploring Bandelier. It is where the ancestral Pueblo people lived. They made their homes in the rock. Gage loved being able to climb many ladders to get up into what used to be homes.
We had a great time exploring and imagining what it would have looked like way back when....
Gage started out with help, but was determined to skate on his own, which he did. I was impressed! But I think he liked it best when his dad would hold his hands and take him around the rink at lightening speed.

We are so lonely now that most of you are gone. It was so fun having everyone around to laugh and talk to, and share our fun with. Thanks for the great pictures. I kept forgetting to take them.
