Grandma Ritchie

Jared's Grandma Ritchie passed away just before Christmas.  It was not a surprise but is always a shock when someone in the family passes away.  She had been living with Jared's parents in New Mexico for the last 8 years where they were able to care for her.  The time she spent there and with family also there in New Mexico, there were two funerals; one in New Mexico then one in Rexburg, Idaho where she had lived most of her life.
We were able to attend the funeral in Rexburg and meet up with Jared's brother Nathan and their family and Emily came with Jared's Mom and Dad.  It was a cold sunny day, as it often is in Rexburg.  I was able to take some pictures at the cemetery of family.
Gage and his cousin Joel.
Jared and Nathan were both pallbearers.

Gage and Grandma's beautiful casket and flowers.

Jared with his uncle Dick Holloway
Jared and Aunt Diane and Uncle Nylon Nelson.
It was nice to see many of Jared's Dad's side of the family.  We don't seem to have opportunities to visit with them.  It was a nice funeral and we always seem to learn more about the life the person led.  She was a wonderful person and certainly a charismatic soul.  Gage still remembered playing and laughing with Grandma and was sad to realize that she has moved on.
We love you Grandma!

Thank you for sharing those pictures. I didn't realize until I started blogging that I didn't get any pictures of the funeral in NM :( Your right, I'm happy for Grandma, but...
