JAG AT THE HELM

It's great to be Eight!

Gage turned eight years old! He was excited to have his favorite cereal for his birthday breakfast.
We started out the day of Gage's baptism with the YMCA River Bank Run. Jared ran the Trifecta and Gage and I ran the 5K. Gage and I both did awesome and beat our previous time and our goals.
Did I really make it to the finish line??? Big sigh of relief was in order.
Jared feels happy with how he did too! I loved training and running together as a family. Well, kind of running together as a family. Jared and Gage are always ahead of me. Gage ran the 5K in 26:? and I ran it in 28:45.
Gage was so excited and nervous to get baptized. Jared was able to baptize and confirm him. Grandma Jan and Grandad Helm and Grandma Pam and Grandpa Jenks were able to be there on his special day. Grandad gave a awesome talk on baptism and Grandpa gave a wonderful talk on the Holy Ghost. I am so sad that we didn't get a picture with Gage and his grandparents.
The anthill cake that Grandma Jan helped me decorate was a big hit with the kids. She had some great ideas and I really really appreciated her help. All the kids wanted an ant, of course. Luckily we had enough to go around. I just love how they are all hovering over the cake and trying to decide which ant they want.
We felt so much love and support from our Missoula friends. So many came to support Gage and it was just so neat!

What a great month for the Helm family! Thank you for posting about the baptism so that we could see the pictures. We wanted to be there to support Gage on that special day and am happy that the Grandparents could come. Great job on the races. You all are so brave.
