I wanted to take a nice picture to send our with our e-christmas newsletter, but mostly we just got annoyed with each other and got weird pictures.
Melanie, Emily, Aaron, Jared, Gage and I caravaned to New Mexico for Christmas at Helm Headquarters. It was a long frosty blizzardy kind of trip, but we made it just in time to sleep and wake up to begin Christmas Eve traditions.
Luminaros or Faralitos

Sarah wasn't actually helping, but she always seems to end up in the picture. Andrew, Jared, Aaron, Jim and Hannah.
Gage and Andrew made a good team.

We are in our Christmas PJ's and we have a couple photo bombers.
This is a regular occurrence at the Helm Home. Grandad starts playing the piano and children start gathering around to sing.
Christmas morning is a lesson in patience! This is Gage's "Are we ever going to open presents?" face.
Christmas morning is scary, says Melanie's expression....

Everyone is gathering to the stairs so we know the fun is about ready to begin.

I think the wait was worth it.
The Nativity is an essential part of Christmas. Jared and I made a little program that involved some reading and lots of singing. What cute actors we have. Hannah was Mary, Jacob the donkey, Aaron Joseph, Andrew the Angel, Natalie the star, Gage the shepherd, Sarah the wiseman.
Daisy was a horse or something. She wasn't very fond of the ears Emily made for her.
One of the Helm family's favorite songs "Glory in the Morning".
We enjoyed a holiday filled with family, yummy food, games, gifts, food, fun activities, singing, food and more singing. We love our Helm Family(which includes Parkinsons and Dietrichs).

It sure was a great Christmas. I'm so glad that you were able to come. Especially Andrew who couldn't wait until he could play with Gage
Um... not sure how I feel about the pictures! But great job posting :)
I love the pictures! You captured a lot of the fun and spirit of Christmas for the Helm bunch. Thanks for sharing. We are so glad you could come even if it was a bit difficult this year.
